New to Newark

WOOD-LEE International Art Handler at the Ohio Museums Association Conference

A few short weeks ago our President, Lisa Holly, and her niece, Tara Melton, went to the Ohio Museums Association Conference in Newark, Ohio.  Lisa and Tara stayed at the beautiful Cherry Valley Hotel and had a wonderful experience. On Saturday, the Conference kicked off the weekend with a ton of local museum tours in Newark, Lancaster, and Granville.

The theme of this year’s Conference was Accessibility for those with special needs, the ladies found the experience to be very informative. It was enlightening to learn all of the things that could be done in a museum to make sure their content is accessible to all.  Lisa really enjoyed the “Flower Power: Flora in Fashion” show at the Decorative Arts Center, as well as the visit to the National Heisey Glass Museum.

Especially during the vendor’s exhibits, the ladies enjoyed meeting everyone and having many lovely conversations. They look forward to seeing what the future holds for everyone and their institutions; hopefully we can even help out on some of their upcoming projects. The ladies always mention how we get so many compliments on our pens, with people even seeking us out just to mention how well they write! We always put time and effort into any project to make sure our customers have a top experience, all the way down to the pens we give away. Lisa enjoys telling our story and she always loves hearing the stories of others too! Everyone is very excited for the OMA Conference next year in Sandusky.
